SWC Spring Update!

It was wonderful to have a chance to update the community and answer lots of great questions at the recent Community Update meeting held in Kirkfield!

At this presentation, Ian Forster, Jennifer Wilson, and ERA Architect’s Annie Pelletier gave an overview of the project so far outlining what the community will see coming up over the summer and fall of 2024:

  • June - the Train Station will move onto its new foundation!

  • Over the summer - the building’s superstructure will progress (steel structure and framing).

  • Fall/Winter - the exterior shell of the building will be complete - roof, doors, windows - and work will continue on the interior over the winter months.

  • Opening to Serve the Community in 2025!

Some great chats were had afterwards in the Kirkfield Historical Society’s Museum reception space over coffee and Becky Jo’s Vovo Fried Dough’s delicious mini malasadas - a real treat!
